Abstract


This study aims to investigate the characteristics and implementation of transformational leadership of the Principal at SMP Islam Daar El Arqom, Mauk District, Tangerang Regency, in improving the quality of learning. This research uses a qualitative case study approach with data collection methods through interviews, observations, and documentary studies. Data analysis is carried out using content analysis, which includes reduction, presentation, data classification, and conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of the Principal's transformational leadership has been carried out by applying transformational leadership characteristics such as charisma, intellectual stimulation, individual attention, and ideal influence, although not yet completely perfect. The role of transformational principals in improving the quality of learning is to influence and direct educators and education personnel in accordance with the characteristics of transformational leadership. The Principal is also an example of patience and understanding, answering various problems faced by the school. Furthermore, the implementation of transformational leadership has brought Daar El Arqom Islamic Junior High School to be more qualified, with an emphasis on achieving the vision and mission through clear steps. It includes charismatic leadership, effective communication, intellectual stimulation, and personal attention to members of the organization
